You can rent a room in one of three hotels in Lavalette, NJ. Actually there is one Inn, one Motel and one Motor Lodge. You need to
book your rental well in advance. It would be hard to find a room on short notice, especially on the weekends. There are also homes

About Lavalette
Jersey Shore's Lavalette, NJ has 2 beaches on Barnegat Bay and 8 ocean beaches for swimming. Located on the Barnegat Peninsula in Ocean
County, New Jersey, the town is less than a square mile in area and has less than 3,000 year round residents. Summer tourists outnumber
the local residents many times over and they come to visit from Memorial Day until Labor Day.
To access the beach, use
a walkway through breaks in the dunes that lead to a section of the mile long (non-commercial) boardwalk. Lavalette is one of the nicest
beach communities on the Barnegat Penisula. There are plenty of places to shop and to eat in town on the short stretch of Route 35 south
running though Lavalette. Lavalette is more of a family town,
not as busy as Toms River and Point Pleasant, although these towns are just a short drive away. Lavalette was voted to be the eighth best
place to live in New Jersey according to the New Jersey monthly magazine.
The bay and the beaches make Lavalette an ideal family town. Some beaches are designated for surfing and fishing and some have there are playgrounds
and crabbing docks. There is boating, windsurfing and water skiing on Barnegat Bay. There are lifeguards on an ocean beach and two bay
beaches during the summer. Beach badges are required when the lifeguards are present. The beach access points have badge checkers when
the lifeguards are present. Children under 12 do not need a beach badge while everyone else must buy one and wear it on
the front of the bathing suit. Beach badges help pay for the lifeguards as well as to help keep the beach clean.
Dogs are only allowed in the off-season. During the season, dogs are not allowed on any of the beaches, at any time (even when
the lifeguards are not on duty).
Surfing is not allowed in any lifeguard protected swimming area. The lifeguards will not allow you to ride.
